Abstract

Blasting out the rock plug in a tunnel designed to take water from India's Nagarjuna Sagar reservoir for an irrigation scheme had to be done without affecting nearby structures. M Ramulu, AK Raina, AK Charkraborty, and GS Naidu explain the painstaking planning and trials that ensured success.
