Abstract

The present state of our knowledge on the hazards of pneumoconiosis has been reviewed in this paper. The author outlines the theories of silicosis, the permissible standards of dustiness, dust control techniques, the prophylactic measures against pneumoconiosis and the progress of research in this field.
