Abstract

The paper presents a brief account of the West Bengal Government’s coke-ovens battery at Durgapur. It describes detailed procedure adopted for the heating-up of the battery and also gives data of the guarantee tests performed on the efficiency of the different equipment and accessories of the plant. Allowing for the tolerance that was mutually accepted by the contractors and the owner, the plant fulfilled successfully all the operational and efficiency guarantee tests as covered by the contract.
