Abstract

A functional relationship between the relative flammability of coal and its inherent ash content has been established. This relationship was found to hold good in the case of bituminous and semi-bituminous coal. Thus the formula may be applied to evaluate the approximate value of relative flammability when the ash percentage is obtained.
