Abstract

The roof bolt truss, a recently introduced form of road-way support, is now being experimented upon in a few Indian mines. It is found to be of great utility and as such it was thought to analyse the roof truss system statistically to study the influence of different parameters of the truss on ht support reactions produced in the roof. Three parameters have been chiefly considered viz. : angle of borehole distance between hole edge and bearing block and thickness of bearing block. The variation of three reaction in the roof with these parameters has been given graphically. One of the reaction equations may be used for determining these three parameters depending on the anchorage strength of a roof.
