Abstract

Based on the results of settling rates of coal particles as function of pH, viscosity, adsorption, polymer concentration, agitation of slurry etc., a suitable mechanism for the flocculation of a few coking coals of Jharia coal-field has been proposed. The process of flocculation of these colas is Primarily due to charge neutralization followed by the polymer bridging of coal particles.
