Abstract

In this paper design aspects of auxiliary ventilation system for ventilation of development headings are discussed. Equations have been developed for calculation of various duct and duct assembly parameters like leakage rate, leakless resistance of ducting, effective system resistance, leakage coefficient, etc. from simple routine measurements. Calculation of various parameters and steps in designing a system for longer beadings have been demonstrated by an example. The importance of reducing leakage of air through ducting has been emphasised.
