Abstract

An electrochemcial cell based on metallised membrane electrode system, has been developed for the measurement of corbon monoxide in range of 0 to 100 ppm. The cell consists of three identical electrode mode of pt metal alloy blended with Teflon and sulphuric or phosphoric acid as an electrolyte. Output of such cell due to reaction CO + H2O → CO2 + 2H+ + 2e- will be utilized for the measurement of carbo monoxide. Such cell will be of immense value for CO detection continuously out of spontaneous heating in underground coal mining industry
