Socio-economic and environmental impacts of blasting operation were studied by the blasting department of CMRI through subjective impact assessment in mining affected villages. Based on that study, simple sets of human response criteria have been established for Indian mining environment. Although they are physiological and psychological sensitivity dependant, however, they may be considered as guide lines for the evaluation of plausible remedial measures for successful blasting operation in sensitive areas.
