Abstract

This paper studies coal quality of ‘0’ seams coal form two underground mines viz., Kuiya and Dobari underground mines of Bastacolla area in Jharia Coalfield. The study covers physico-chemical analysis to assess the quality of coal of the two underground mines. The study further aims to help in properly evaluating the quality of coal reserve available in ‘0’ seam. It is expected that the information available form the quality data generated would help in proper planning in exploitation of coal/development of mine in the area as well as to assess the appropriate utilization potential of available coal reserved for specific industrial applications.
