Abstract

Controlled recirculation is new technique in so far as it is under experimental stage. Apart from its sound theoretical base, the technique has been tried with exemplary success in U.K., South Africa, Canada etc. The paper presents an overview of technical and economical feasibility of controlled recirculation vis-a-via conventional system of ventilation in underground mines. In view of these results authors strongly advocate for trial of the technique in India as well, primarily in long heading drivage which are worst victim of poor ventilation.
