Abstract

Control of fire in coal mines by sealing is a common practice. However, a systematic & scientific approach for prediction of safe time period to open sealed off panels is required to avoid undue delay. The paper deals with a case study of successful control of a underground coal mine fire by dynamic balancing of pressure and predication of safe time period for opening of the sealed panel.
