Abstract

The concern for degrading environment around the globe has raised an alarm among every individual. It is high time now to start thinking of possible ways of protecting the environment. Green Banking as a concept is a proactive and smart way of thinking with a vision for future sustainability of our only planet Earth. Bank as we all know are the lending agents for the industries that contribute immensely in environment degradation and so needs to be all alert in the modern era for its own sustainability and existence as well as showing its concern for the environment as a member of the society. The present paper looks into the aspects of green banking from the point of view of protecting the environment and providing sustainable development in the society
