Abstract

The present study reveals that samples have reactive macerals, huminite, and liptinite. Availability of porous surface structure with the presence of different minerals along with the organic matter was the outcomes of morphological study. The cross plot between H/C and O/C atomic ratio indicates that samples fell in lignite region and having kerogen Type-III. Hydrogen and carbon value of samples came in bright band of seylers chart. Gasification study shows that the sample was quite reactive with CO2. The preferable conversion obtains in less time with high temperature. Over all study conclude that Valia lignite is suitable for underground coal gasification.
