Abstract

The present research article highlights the problem of dust and air pollutants on the environment. In the task of assessing the impact of air pollution on the environment, the emission factors of different sources play a significant role as input parameters in order to find the degree of impact of air pollutants, and the dispersion scenario of the SPM and SO2 continuously emitted into atmosphere for devising suitable environmental management plan. The article addresses the development of empirical models for the identified fourteen sources in the mining complexes. This also presents the most effective, economic and safety ways to suppress the dust and control the air pollution in and around mining areas along with some disadvantages observed from the field experiences.
