Abstract

The trend of stone-dusting in Indian Collieries as revealed by past data has been furnished. By analyzing a few coal samples of different fields, for their free silica content, a critical study has been made vis-à-vis the specification of stone-dusts as per Regulation. Particular stress has been laid on close and continuous supervision of the dusting made and for further on the quality of dusting material used depending on the silica content of coal.
