Abstract

In recent years, the capacity utilization of automobile tyres and their production in India have registered an upward trend and this would, naturally, result in the increased availability of discarded tyres. Generally, discarded tyres are considered as soild waste, creating disposal problems. In a previous communication a pyrolysis process for conversion of waste tyre into char, oil, gas etc. was described. The present laboratory investigation deals with studies on the probable utilization of waste tyre oil as a source of liquid fuel and gas of high calorific value.
